1986 Corvette Pace Car Convertible, 355ci Doug Nash 4+3 Dana 44 - 79,433 miles. Finished in Silver Metallic over a Original Flame Red interior (Yes, those are original seat covers!) a extremely rare color combination for this car as a convertible which only becomes more rare as a manual transmission car. It is unknown who built this car originally or when it was originally modified to this extent. The car was not titled until 1991 with 15,360 miles and apparently remained in the hands of the original selling dealer until that point. Judging by the parts and methods originally used in the build of this vehicle all signs point to the car originally being modified in the late 80's to early/mid 90's and it is very likely someone at the original selling dealership had this car built. The engine is built on the correct numbers matching l98 block with a .030 over bore and forged TRW flat top pistons with valve reliefs, EVERY bolt on this car is A.R.P including the head studs the block appears to have been decked but the stampings remain visible. The Head gaskets are Fel-Pro performance and are thinner than factory spec as well the factory 113 aluminum cylinder heads have been milled and ported. The crank shaft, connecting rods and camshaft are unknown but the entire valvetrain is Competition Cams Magnum series and what ever cam was installed originally is a flat tappet cam and begins to make its power around 2500 rpm. The factory lower intake manifold has been ported as well as the upper intake manifold with the upper being Siamesed to match the 1st design SLP intake runners. The factory exhaust manifolds have been ported and coated as well as titanium heat wrapped leading into a Allen's true dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. The Doug Nash 4+3 functions without flaw and the over drive also is fully functional the car does have a rather heavy performance clutch in it and it grabs instantly. This car is a Very clean survivor quality car with even the floors having ZERO impact damage which is rather uncommon for a C4 of any mileage. This Is an EXTREMELY fast car for what it is, I have a C5 sitting next to it in the garage and this car will walk by it like it is standing still. For the most part Everything on this car is brand new within the last 2,000 miles including brand new Falken 245/50r16's up front and 255/50r16 Toyo R888R's in the rear (I have gotten caught in light rain and they were fine, a regular street tire on this car will result in a useless 1st and 2nd gear). This vehicle is not the typical C4 and as such will appeal to a certain knowledgeable buyer (Laptop pictured with datalogging software installed will be included with vehicle).
